Your Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Wedding- April/May 2020 (Issue 20)

Our centrepieces were simple and elegant. We chose a couple of flowers matching those in my bouquet to sit in mixed jars and bottles and placed them on log slices. We also scattered orange leaves and wood chips around to tie everything together. We placed a sprig of sage leaves on each place name that were picked fresh from our garden the morning before the wedding. I told our florist, Claire, the colours that I liked and that I wanted something wild and she provided the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen. My bouquet dried out wonderfully so it’s in a vase in our house to help me relive the memory of the day! “Our photographer Nick did a fantastic job of capturing our special day. From the moment we met him, he made us feel at ease and loved the fact we could have a pre- wedding shoot which was invaluable to us. The final photographs were a mix of fun and posed images that looked very natural.” – Katie Instead of having a traditional wedding cake, we provided a selection of cakes and displayed them on a picnic blanket that tied in perfectly with the barn setting. We printed lots of photographs of us with our guests and put them up around the bar and disco area. It was a great hit with everyone helping them to relive special memories. My parents made the bunting using fabric that Thomas and I chose, and also the signs that were displayed around the venue. “The welcome we received from the team at The Barn at Upcote was so friendly and helpful and this carried on throughout the wedding planning.” – Katie REAL WEDDINGS 29 
