REAL WEDDINGS 23  to tie in with our flowers,” Lisa tells us. “The tables were named after cameras because I have collected vintage ones since I was a teenager and we are both photographers so it made sense,” she says. “Our place names were presented on mini log stands made by Marc's dad which tied in beautifully with our theme, and each name was digitally customised by a designer I found on Etsy. We used her work throughout and kept all of our stationery matching.” The couple wanted their flowers to be really special so opted for bouquets of peonies which is Lisa's favourite variety. They wanted to incorporate their forest theme so florist Grace added some of her own touches. “There were a few green blackberries placed into the bouquets and mine lasted for two weeks after the wedding,” Lisa tells us. “All of our guests were commenting on how good they looked and their scent.” Flowers were also a feature in the centrepieces with blooms displayed in jam jars and milk bottles sat on large log slices. “These were accompanied by a vintage camera and some gold spray-painted small rubber animals to tie in with our theme,” Lisa describes. The couple fed their guests pie and mash which went down a treat. “We then treated them to Krispy Kreme doughnuts displayed as a tower instead of having a traditional wedding cake,” Lisa tells us. “Our florist supplied some fresh flowers to decorate the stand with. We also had a snack table filled with jars of savoury and sweet treats and our favours were chocolate biscuits topped with giant marshmallows that guests could toast by the firepit during the evening.” The icing on the cake was Doris, a cream 1964 split screen VW Campervan used to transport Lisa to her wedding. “I had met the owners of Doris a few years ago when I photographed the vehicle at a wedding and fell in love with her – they decorated the van beautifully to match my bouquet,” she says. LOOKING THE PART Lisa chose a blush pink dress by Enzoani decorated with rose gold details. “I wanted to wear a pink gown,” Lisa tells us, “and this style was perfect. I teamed it with a pair of multi-coloured shoes from Irregular Choice, a rose gold hair vine and a rose gold heart bracelet that my sister gave to me.” Lisa also found a necklace to match the bracelet and her mum gave her some bumble bee earrings the night before the wedding. Marc chose a three-piece tweed suit and teamed it with a sage green bow tie and brown brogues. “His outfit really worked with our theme,” Lisa tells us. “Our groomsmen wore the same tweed trousers, bow tie and shoes with white shirts and brown leather braces while the bridesmaids wore green tulle dresses with lilac shoes. They all looked gorgeous,” Lisa says. TIME TO CELEBRATE “We chose an acoustic guitarist to play for a few hours during the evening at our wedding,” Lisa tells us. “We had seen him perform at a food festival that we had visited and loved his music. Our guests thought he was great, too, and it allowed them to mingle and chat.”
