Your Glos and Wilts Wedding - Feb/Mar 2020 (Issue 19)
T he Zoots have been performing at weddings since 2009 and have played at more than 250 celebrations so it's not hard to see why they have won many awards including International Cover Band of the Year 2018 and UK Wedding Band of the Year. They have been described by entertainment newspaper The Stage as, “Impressive and impossible not to like.” In a highly competitive market, The Zoots have been fortunate enough to perform at some of the most prestigious UK venues including the London Guildhall, and their goal is always to provide the most entertaining live show within the limitations of a venue. They have plenty of experience in knowing what type of music and performance works best to keep guests up and dancing all night! One of their funniest requests was to sing Band Aid's festive hit Do they Know it's Christmas at a wedding in June, and one of their favourite weddings was held in Poland which lasted for two days - one of the longest sets the band have ever performed for. Jamie tells us about popular requests for first dances at weddings taking place throughout 2020. “Most couples have asked for a song by Ed Sheeran,” he tells us, “but a new trend emerging is the festival-style wedding held in a marquee with a more relaxed approach where newlyweds are choosing not to have a first dance on their own, but instead enjoy a group dance with the entire wedding party!” Jamie advises engaged couples to take note when attending weddings what they like and what they would do differently. “Ask your friends, family or even followers on social media for ideas and then decide for yourself what would best suit your special day.” To book The Zoots, call 07887 990 400 or 07736 276 344 and visit thezoots.com for more information.
