Your Glos and Wilts Wedding - Feb/Mar 2020 (Issue 19)
REAL WEDDINGS 39 The couple had rhubarb-flavoured vodka shots as their favours and a three-tier cake decorated with handmade flowers. “Our chosen flavours were chocolate, vanilla and lemon,” Charlotte tells us. They opted for classic white flowers with lots of greenery. “We felt that this really suited our colour theme and the feel of the barn,” Charlotte explains. “We displayed gypsophila on each chair in the ceremony room which looked simple yet elegant.” The couple served their guests pulled pork, potatoes and vegetables as the main dish, and lemon cheesecake for the dessert. “During the evening reception we provided pizza which our guests loved,” Charlotte says. LOOKING THE PART “I loved my fitted dress that featured a dramatic train,” Charlotte tells us. “It was very elegant. Our bridesmaids looked beautiful in their silver grey maxi dresses and Rhys looked so handsome in his blue suit teamed with a grey waistcoat. His groomsmen coordinated with him wearing blue three-piece suits.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “We hired a singer who pretended to be a waiter during the afternoon and then surprised our guests by dropping a tray of spoons to create a loud noise before bursting into song,” Charlotte tells us. ”He sang many different tracks that our guests loved and then a DJ took over for the evening reception.” “Some of our guests actually got up to help the singing waiter when he dropped a tray of cutlery as part of his act – this was one of the highlights of our day!” – Charlotte “The best man’s speech was hilarious!” – Rhys
