Your Glos and Wilts Wedding - Dec/Jan 2019 (Issue 18)
Luscious locks are a must-have for many brides-to-be and this comes from regular care and maintenance in the build up to the big day, so preparation is key. Wedding hair specialist Suzanne Hale advises her brides-to-be to start preparing their hair with regular trims every eight to 12 weeks. “It’s also important to treat yourself to some good quality products to ensure your hair is in tip top condition,” she says. Here, Suzanne gives us her top tips: • ”Once you have chosen your wedding dress, you can think about booking your hair trial. I always suggest this should be four months prior to the wedding date. Take a photograph of your dress along with you to give the stylist an idea of what look will complement it. • Take any chosen hair accessories and veil along with you to the trial. • The idea of a hair trial is to leave feeling confident with your chosen look. If you’re not then don’t be afraid of asking for another trial. • Use this consultation to ask about hair for your bridesmaids in order to plan a schedule. It’s a good idea for your hair stylist and make-up artist to contact one another to work out your schedule. • If you have coloured hair, I would recommend applying the final colour two weeks prior to the wedding. • If you don’t have coloured locks, consider applying a semi-gloss to give extra shine. Your stylist can advise further on this.” LITTLE WHITE BOOK Elaine Morane, 07979 505 947, elainemoranemakeup.co.uk elainemoranemakeup Suzanne Hale, 07772 054 683, hairbysuzannehale.co.uk @suzanne.hale.585 Teresa Jolly, 07919 578 274, teresajolly.co.uk @TeresaJollyMakeupArtist The Spa at Bowood, 01249 822 228, bowood.org bowood_hotel The Spa at Hatherley Manor,01452 730 217, hatherleymanor.com @hatherleymanor It’s also a good idea to let hair go natural for a few months before the wedding date, and not using heated styling tools. If you do end up having to use the heated stylers, make sure that you use a heat protector spray beforehand. Allowing your hair time off from the heat will be extremely beneficial to its structure, regaining moisture allowing you to get creative with styling it, for example with braids, messy buns or natural beach-inspired waves.
