Your Glos and Wilts Wedding - Dec/Jan 2019 (Issue 18)

REAL WEDDINGS 33  envisioned. “I always thought that I would pick a simple, straight wedding dress but these styles didn’t suit my height. I tried on a dress by Mori Lee that featured a full skirt and a sequin back and fell in love with it. I teamed it with a simple veil, a pair of drop earrings which were a gift from Tim, and some sentimental family jewellery.” Lizzie added a faux fur wrap and blue wellies to wear outside in the snow. “Tim gave me a pair of pink and grey Nike trainers featuring our wedding date as a gift, so I changed into these for our evening reception.” “Tim chose a blue Harris Tweed wool suit,” Lizzie tells us. “His groomsmen wore the same along with white shirts, contrasting tweed waistcoats and brown brogues.” The couple chose one-shoulder pleated maxi dresses in slate grey for their bridesmaids. “They all looked so beautiful,” Lizzie says. TIME TO CELEBRATE “Our band were called the Dance Floor Fillers and they did just that!” Lizzie tells us. “The lead guitarist performed an incredible solo and our photographer, Mark, commented on how he had never seen so many people get up and dance so quickly! We also had a firepit for our guests to toast their marshmellows over, and a ski-themed photo booth. The pictures of our guests dressed in woolly hats holding ski poles and wearing goggles make great memories, especially those of my 96-year-old gran!” “My hairdresser, Emily, got stuck in the snow two miles from the venue so my dad and brother had to walk to rescue her!” – Lizzie “The team at The Kingscote Barn were so warm and friendly. The venue offered such a relaxed atmosphere that we knew would suit us.” - Lizzie
