Your Glos and Wilts Wedding - Jun/Jul 2019 (Issue 15)

89 EXPERT ADVICE SHOWSTOPPING SMILE I’m considering having my teeth whitened for my special day. What does the procedure involve, how far in advance should I have it done and what’s the after care process like? Christy says: Having your teeth whitened ahead of, and ready for, your wedding day is a big decision and the process will differ at the various practices. At Affinity Dental Care the procedure involves having approximately three appointments after the initial complimentary consultation. The first appointment is an introduction with one of our dentists, who will talk to you about how the process will work and take impressions of your teeth. A week later, you’ll come back in and meet with them again to have the whitening trays fitted and be given instructions on how to use it to whiten your teeth. We’d like to see you for a review approximately two weeks after that to monitor how things are progressing, and we recommend that you visit the hygienist too, although this is not included in the price. Once you reach the desired shade for your smile, you can stop using the whitening kit. We recommend that you start this process a minimum of four weeks prior to the big day to ensure that you have enough time to reach your desired shade. FLUTTER YOUR LASHES I’m considering having LVL lash lift before my wedding. How exactly does it work and how long before the special day should I have it? Is there any aftercare needed? Elaine says: An LVL lash lift is the perfect treatment to have before your big day. It works by lifting and tinting your lashes from the root, resulting in them appearing longer and fuller for six to eight weeks.  Having this treatment done two to three days prior to your ceremony is the ideal time to achieve stunning lashes for both your wedding and honeymoon, if you’re jetting off soon after. The aftercare is low maintenance. You’ll need to allow 24 hours before getting the lashes wet following the treatment, and then I’d recommend using a conditioning lash and brow serum to both nourish and strengthen them in between the treatments.
