Alex’s last stop was Vancouver, where Crystal was working at the time. On his last Saturday night in the city, the pair met in a bar called Roxy. “After that evening, we became inseparable for the last three days of Alex’s trip, exploring the city together,” Crystal tells us. “After dropping him off at the airport to fly back to England, I found myself catching a plane to London to move in with him. Eight years after that, we decided to get married.” Alex proposed in Greece, and that was a complete surprise. “We had talked about starting a family and spending our lives together, but we had never really talked about marriage, so it was totally out of the blue,” Crystal explains. “Alex asked me to marry him over dinner by the ocean.
