93 EXPERT ADVICE Q&A Ask our experts about bridal beauty COOL CORAL Diana Blakeman, image consultant, personal stylist and director at House of Colour, covering Salisbury How can I wear coral make-up for my wedding? Diane says: The Pantone Colour Institute has announced its colour of 2019 is living coral, a warm, vibrant shade. As with many different colours, it won’t suit all skin tones. Coral is a warm, yellow-based pink shade so will best suit brides with a warm skin tone (which means having a yellow pigment). Those with a blue pigment (known as a cool skin tone) will need to consider a different colour. Wearing the correct shade for your skin is essential to looking brighter, fresher and younger. Coral lipstick looks fantastic, especially in the summer, and can be worn glossy or matte. Coral blusher is a great way to add a hint of the shade, and for those a little less adventurous, a bright coral nail colour is a great way to incorporate it in to your big-day look. Coral can work beautifully for members of the bridal party too because it doesn’t dominate, making it the perfect hue to accentuate other colours. It teams well with all warm neutrals, including grey, beige, khaki, dark olive and brown. ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS Heather Card, professional make-up artist, covering the South West I want my skin to look flawless on my special day. Can you advise me how to achieve this? Heather says: First, I would recommend a good skincare regime during the months leading up to your wedding day to ensure that your skin is in prime condition. Make sure that you’re moisturising and removing make-up to prevent your pores from clogging. Second, consider having your make-up airbrushed on your wedding day to allow for a healthy, flawless glow. This will leave you looking refreshed and radiant at your wedding. I use Airbase make-up, which is kind to the skin with added vitamin A and E, which improves the elasticity, reduces the signs of fine lines and is a moisturising antioxidant. There’s the option of having silicone airbrush make-up that gives a dewy finish and is suitable for all skin types. The airbrush can be used to apply foundation, contour and blusher for a flawless finish. Airbrush make-up boasts longevity and durability, and because it’s HD-ready, it’s ideal for wedding photographs and videography.
