REAL WEDDINGS 37  LOOKING THE PART “I wore Kaylin by Morilee,” Lisa explains. “It was exactly what I wanted, a backless fit-and-flare style that I accessorised with a diamanté belt and cathedral-length veil.” Ben chose a royal blue three-piece suit, which he teamed with a pink bow tie and a pair of brown shoes. His groomsmen wore the same as him, but with a grey bow tie. “Choosing our bridesmaids’ dresses was the hardest part of the wedding planning,” Lisa explains. “I had four who were different shapes and sizes, so finding one dress to suit them all proved difficult. After many online purchases and trips to the post office to return them, I found the perfect style in Lipsy during a trip to Birmingham. They had all of the sizes – and better still, they were half-price!” TIME TO CELEBRATE “I had always wanted a harpist to play when I got married,” Lisa tells us. “So we found a local one who played Canon in D Major as I walked down the aisle. We then provided casino tables to keep everyone amused because we got married early in the day. Everyone enjoyed winning fake money at the roulette and blackjack tables!” Lisa and Ben also hired a local band called Firefly to entertain their guests during the evening, and their first dance was to Perfect by Ed Sheeran. “We had a few dancing lessons just before our wedding to help choreograph a routine, but after a few glasses of prosecco, we ended up improvising most of it!” “I decided to do an unplanned speech on the spur of the moment because it was my 30 th birthday as well as my wedding day. I wanted to thank all of my guests for being a part of our special day.” – Lisa
