The manor house has a Georgian façade, formal rooms for entertaining and grand guest rooms to sleep up to 24, while in the grounds, there are lakes, streams, woods and a small church. Civil ceremonies take place in the Ballroom for up to 100 guests or in the on-site church for between 80 and 100 loved ones. Another option for couples is to have a non-legally binding blessing in the gardens. The wedding breakfast can take place in the Ballroom for up to 70 seated guests or for up to 200 loved ones in a marquee in the grounds. Up to 275 guests can be accommodated in the marquee for the evening reception, although there is a surcharge for more than 200 people. DRAKESTONE HOUSE , DURSLEY This 20 th -century historic house is located on a private, 10-acre estate in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has recently been granted a licence to hold civil ceremonies. Exclusive use is standard at this venue, which boasts breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, period features and a Cotswold Yew garden. There are eight bedrooms within the house, including one four-poster bed, four bathrooms, a lounge, dining room, conservatory and a terrace outside. Civil ceremonies take place for up to 100 guests on the top terrace and the garden room or smaller, more intimate ceremonies can take place inside the house in the Drawing Room for up to 25 loved ones. For couples wanting a more traditional ceremony, there are some beautiful churches nearby. The marquee, located on the main lawn, holds up to 100 guests for a sit-down meal and up to 150 for the evening entertainment.
