Manor by the Lake, Cheltenham This Victorian mansion, set in seven acres of award-winning gardens in the heart of Cheltenham, features an ideal lake for those memorable photographs, and the venue now offers couples the chance to have an outdoor ceremony in The Italian Gardens, which are newly licensed for ceremonies of up to 150 guests. Other outdoor ceremony areas are The Arches and The Victorian Pavilion, with each holding up to 200 guests. Inside, there’s a choice of beautifully presented function rooms that offer civil ceremonies, including The Marguerite, which can be used in conjunction with The Maximilian. This room holds up to 80 guests, and there’s also The Lyderick, which holds up to 60 loved ones. The West-wing Ballroom accommodates a larger party of up to 200 guests for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception. The Swan, Bibury, Gloucestershire Located on the picturesque banks of the River Coln is this former Cotswold coaching inn, which dates back to the 18 th -century and simply oozes character. It’s a quaint building tucked away in this well-known village, home to the famous Arlington Row and the Bibury Trout Farm. Boasting 22 individually decorated bedrooms, the idyllic Garden Cottage Suites, with sitting rooms and private gardens, make the most romantic bridal suites – one also has a private hot tub. Civil ceremonies take place in the elegant Signet Room for up to 100 guests seated and up to 110 loved ones for the wedding breakfast and reception. This is home to a feature fireplace, large windows to flood the room with natural daylight and a private bar. The Library hosts intimate wedding ceremonies of up to 26 guests and can also seat a private wedding breakfast. Alternatively, being situated next door to the Signet Room, it can become a children’s games room or an entertainment area in which to set up a fun photo booth.
