FLOWERS 55 PLANNING SOS ADEL AND KARINA WILSON, 2 OF HARPS As professional award-winning musicians, we’re excited to share our top tips for finding the best wedding music for your special day! Choose music that means something to you. Being able to put together personal playlists ensures that you can have songs that are meaningful to you and loved ones. The songs you choose for your drinks reception should combine styles and genres. The pieces of music need to be songs that everyone will recognise and enjoy. This is important for either live or recorded music to add variety and personality to this part of your day. Check out our wedding blog for hundreds of song ideas. Whether you’re planning a whimsical woodland wedding, a formal black-tie castle setting or a festival vibe, we have the perfect playlist for everyone! If you’re having live music for your wedding breakfast on an acoustic instrument such as the harp, we recommend mid-tempo, recognisable music. This can be a source of entertainment for your family and friends. We know we’re a little biased, but live music creates a fantastic atmosphere on your wedding day, as the musician can tell what kind of music your guests enjoy. Some, like us, can play requests from your nearest and dearest too. Last but not least, ask your musician for help! If our couples are stuck for ideas or need inspiration, we schedule an online meeting and chat about music or artists they usually listen to. This helps us find exactly what they imagine their day feeling and sounding like. We always help you find the perfect song! This enables your day to be captured organically while ensuring you have some beautiful family photographs to cherish; they only increase in importance over time! Keeping your group shots to a small amount allows you to enjoy your day without being posed in front of the camera for too long. My second piece of advice is to trust your photographer and listen to their judgment on timing and when the light is best. It’s also great to inject some fun and personality into your photographs. You'll want to look back at these images and see yourselves having the best time ever, crazy in love. So, booking someone you feel comfortable with means you’ll look and feel relaxed in your photographs too.
