Your East Midlands Wedding - October/November 2023 (Issue 58)

The Sugar Tree band was a huge hit with guests! Owen plays with the team regularly, who are also our dear friends, which made it super special. They were great at getting our guests involved with loads of percussion instruments such as maracas, tambourines, claves and most exciting of all, the cowbell! The following day, we spent about three hours at breakfast because that was where we could see and spend time with all our guests again. Guests played Hammerschlagen, where you take turns hitting nails into a wooden log. It was amazing to see loved ones playing together and getting on well! We went to Mauritius for two and a half weeks after the wedding. It was a fantastic trip with the best scenery, food and atmosphere. We bought our first home together and started renovating in June 2022, so we were definitely ready for some luxury and a break from the hard work, dust and sleeping on the floor! The best man’s speech featured a cameo from Owens’s favourite comedian, Tim Vine! 38
