Your East Midlands Wedding - October/November 2023 (Issue 58)

The registrar spoke to Ollie about witnesses the morning of the wedding, which we hadn’t thought about and he decided our mums would be perfect. When the registrar asked for witnesses, we all looked round baffled as Ollie had to say he forgot to mention it to anyone. Luckily, they jumped up and took the hint, but we made light of it! I loved getting ready in the morning with my bridesmaids and mum! My best friend joined us after helping set up the barn; we spent the morning giggling, chatting, popping prosecco and having our make-up done. We were both so nervous but relaxed as soon as we saw each other at the end of the aisle. We wrote our vows, which was very emotional! I had the idea to roll up my vows like a scroll secured with a piece of blue ribbon, but it took me some time trying delicately to open it before I just ripped it off – much to everyone’s amusement! We wanted a local wedding in a country manor house surrounded by loved ones. We’re also massive foodies and love eating out, so the food was hugely important. Healing Manor ticked all our boxes! My make-up artist and hairstylist were amazing; they did an excellent job of making me feel special. 31 REAL WEDDINGS
