I always appreciated photography but only realised I had a skill for it once I received a camera as a wedding present. I realised this was my passion in life, lots of photos later, and I’ve been photographing weddings for the last 12 years. I’ve always had a very documentary style with a hands-off approach, and while my style has come on leaps and bounds, my ethos has remained the same – it’s all about a couple’s day, and the photos are secondary to the experience. What do you offer newlyweds? I offer a relaxed and unobtrusive photography style that lets you enjoy the day while beautiful photographs are captured. All those authentic moments are where the true beauty of the day is. What’s your favourite part of the job? My favourite part is meeting many different people and telling many unique stories. I love that weddings are so different, with various characters and emotions on the day. What advice can you share with nearlyweds? The wedding day will fly by, so ensure you plan moments to pause and take it all in. I was encouraged to be creative from a very young age, and my father always had a camera in his hands. After studying Art GCSE and A levels, I studied fashion and advertising photography at university. I adored capturing people and their personalities and began photographing families after my studies before finally finding my passion for wedding photography. The emotions, interactions and importance hooked me. What do you offer newlyweds? I offer support and guidance with a friendly face in some of the most nerve-wracking moments of their lives. I pride myself on making my couples feel at ease in front of the camera, allowing me to capture beautiful, authentic and organic moments. My style is true to life, with its brightness and timelessness. I hope my work never ages and couples can reminisce on their photographs throughout generations. What’s your favourite part of the job? I genuinely love my job, but my favourite part has to be the couple portraits! Here I can be creative and capture the love between my beautiful couples. What advice can you share with nearlyweds? Don’t stress the small stuff. Plan your day how you want to, and ensure you have time to soak it all in. Check out: https://laurajaynephotographer.co.uk
