Your East Midlands Wedding - August/September 2023 (Issue 57)

The groom wore the same attire as the groomsmen but with a different coloured tie to stand out. They all wore blue suits with tartan-style waistcoats. “Leigh isn’t one for wearing suits, but I thought he looked very handsome and it was nice to see him all dresses up,” says the bride. The bridesmaids wore sage green dresses, while the maid-of-honour had a slightly different shoulder strap. The little flowergirl, who was only 10 months old, wore a white dress with a flower headband and little cute matching shoes. MEMORABLE MOMENTS A live singer performed on the piano during the ceremony, drinks reception and between the general disco in the evening to keep the day flowing. There was also a photo booth, which guests enjoyed, and they couldn’t get the children out of it towards the end of the night. The DJ played some great hits in the evening and a good mix of tunes for the different age groups. Loved ones danced all night long until it was time to rest their heads. Family and close friends being together made the pair’s day extra special. As did the incredible flowers, beautiful décor and the striking venue itself. Rebecca says, “Our wedding was even better than I’d imagined! We had lots of comments from everyone regarding how beautiful it was.” The father-of-the-bride’s speech was a bit hit with the guests! He mentioned when Leigh first arrived on the scene and his first impressions. 36
