Your East Midlands Wedding - April/May 2021 (Issue 43)

Our four-tiered cake featured dusky pink icing, gold-effect leaves and fresh flowers – it tasted delicious with lemon, chocolate, toffee and Victoria sponge flavours. We had two wooden cake toppers; the first said ‘Rachael is 30’ for when the guests arrived at the venue and the second one said ‘Mr & Mrs Hirst’. Our daughter carried a beautiful floral hoop. I wanted dusky pink and cream roses in my bouquet with sage-coloured foliage. It was so lovely to see our friends and family all together. Each table had different vases and jars filled with snacks such as pretzels, breadsticks and popcorn. We both loved Kelham Hall’s beautiful spaces! Our wedding was a huge surprise to guests who were just expecting to celebrate my 30 th birthday! 28
