Your East Midlands Wedding - April/May 2020 (Issue 37)
Set in beautiful grounds, Sutton Bonington Hall had everything we were looking for. We had the flexibility to decorate the venue how we wished, allowing us to add some really personal touches like ivy across the beams and dangling orbs with candles that really helped create a romantic winter-theme. We wanted warm and wintery flowers and left it quite flexible with the florist. We knew we wanted burgundy, peach and some light blue but trusted their creativity. We combined table placements with favours by purchasing personalised wooden reindeers from Etsy. People loved them and hopefully gives them a happy reminder when they see them each year upon opening their decorations boxes! Our centrepieces were designed by the florist and we loved them! We had candles floating in water, along with a very simple centrepiece design consisting of flowers. What the florist produced was truly outstanding and much better than we had expected! We had an absolutely wonderful arrangement of flowers as you entered the venue and the fireplaces was decorated with gorgeous smelling pine and eucalyptus. We broke with tradition and stayed over at the venue the night before, just Ysanne and me. We then woke up to a lovely sunny morning and breakfast in the library. It was a wonderful start to the day and allowed us some intimate time before the madness of the day. 46
