Your East Midlands Wedding - April/May 2020 (Issue 37)
We had a live band for our reception – they were perfect! One of my friends had them at their wedding and it was great to have them play at ours too. On the day we both felt a combination of nerves and excitement. We had the most beautiful sunny weather and the last of the summer, which was so lucky! We wanted all of the flowers to be white and we had a combination of gladioli and hydrangea plants to decorate the venue, along with the same flowers in our bouquets and on the cake. We had a semi-naked cake with three flavours, which included lemon and elderflower, sticky toffee and cherry Bakewell. We displayed the cake on a whiskey barrel, which we now have in our garden as a drinks table for barbecues in the summer! 41 For the table names we wanted something that represented us, and decided on running races we had completed together. My dress was the modest version of the Juno from Wtoo by Watters. I chose the dress as I wanted a tulle skirt and having a lightweight dress I felt comfortable in was key for me. I borrowed the veil from my sister. I have two sisters (both my bridesmaids) and we have now all worn the same veil on our wedding days. It was such a special day and having so many of our friends and family in the same place was amazing, we felt so much love. Everyone went above and beyond to help us. REAL WEDDINGS
