Emily and Michael had known each other for many years through mutual friends and, after a while, discovered they have a lot in common. Back in 2017 on New Year’s Eve, Michael had his proposal all mapped out, with the groom-to-be having booked a penthouse room in a hotel. However, during a nap, the couple were abruptly woken to loud bangs. In a twist of fate, the hotel’s carpark had caught on fire and the bangs were from cars exploding. With a swift change of plan, Michael decided the city of love would be the perfect option. Emily says, “We’d been to watch Moulin Rouge in Paris and then Michael got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.” From that moment, the couple started planning their wedding, which turned out beautifully.
