Bestival bond Homegrown blooms created a romantic backdrop for Bex and Dan’s nuptials Images courtesy of Kathryn Edwards Photography Bex and Dan’s paths first crossed at Bestival 2012, a festival on the Isle of Wight. “We camped next to each other with our friends and really got on. I had a Robin Hood hat that Dan stole, claiming it was his because he was from Nottingham,” says Bex. Their first date was arranged not long after. “We went to a pub called the Malt Cross in Nottingham. There was lots of drinking and flirting and we carried on seeing each other after that date,” she says. Five years later, on the morning of their anniversary, Dan popped the question. “He made a nice breakfast with Buck’s Fizz and went out early to get flowers. I was suspicious, so Dan made me do the washing up to throw me off scent,” she says. However, Dan finally asked Bex to marry him and a year later the big day arrived. “It was perfect and to top it off one of Dan’s best men, Adam, got in touch with Rob da Bank, Bestival founder, and got us some VIP tickets to go this year as a surprise,” says Bex. Here she tells us more about their day… Rebecca McIlhiney, 30, married Daniel Huson, 31, at Crockwell Farm, on 16 th June, 2018. 43 REAL WEDDINGS
