MORE BITE Just one We’ve rounded up some of the region’s best caterers and drink specialists Deciding on the food for your big day can be a difficult task. Finding a cuisine that everyone will like, catering for dietary requirements, and looking for seasonal produce can be overwhelming! If you’re struggling to find the perfect company or cuisine, start by searching online and looking in magazines for inspiration. There are lots of wonderful companies in our region that all offer something slightly different, so if you’re after something in particular, there’s sure to be someone out there to suit your needs. Once you’ve found a company that you like the look of, look at their past work to see if they can create the menu that you’re after. It’s also important to read their reviews to see what previous couples thought of their services. Make sure that they’re in your price range, so you don’t fall in love with a company that you can’t afford! Once you’re happy with your choice, enquire to see if they’re available on your date. If they’re not, they may be able to suggest another company that would suit your big day plans. To help give you some inspiration, we’ve rounded up local catering and drinks companies and asked them about their businesses. There’s succulent chicken or duck, tender pork or lamb, tasty beef or a range of delicious seafood dishes to choose from. If you like tasty food but you’re worried it may be too spicy, don’t worry! I blend each sauce to meet my clients’ requirements, from tasty and mild to very hot and spicy. “Walking Wok has developed a range of delicious vegetarian and vegan options, as well as catering to various allergies and intolerances. My interest in food started when I was just eight years’ old. My family were farmers, so I’m well acquainted with sourcing raw, healthy ingredients for my delicious meals. My elder sister had a flourishing restaurant in Malaysia, where she worked as an assistant chef, cooking authentic Malaysian food. With years of experience, I know how to combine dishes that offer clients an ideal menu to suit their culinary palate. You can choose – hot, spicy, sour or tangy, creamy and rich or aromatic and fruity. The diverse range of dishes allows you to choose a menu to tantalise the taste buds of even the most cautious guest. “Walking Wok have catered for many events, from a small dinner gathering for six people at their house to more than 150 people at a wedding in London, and we are happy to travel further afield if required. We also hold cooking lessons in various Asian cuisine – the “piggy bao buns” one is particularly popular! “No two people are the same, and no two events are the same. Whether small and intimate or large and grand, I can find out what’s important to you and tailor your menu accordingly. Walking Wok is not just about Malaysian food; it is all about enjoying the complete gastronomic experience.” CATERING AND DRINKS 53
