Your East Anglian Wedding - October/November 2024 (Issue 69)

We both chose dresses but didn’t show each other before the day. My gown was ivory, with a low back and dropped neckline. Naomi’s dress was strapless with detachable off-the-shoulder sleeves and a corset body in a blush colour. My 93-year-old father being present and Naomi’s four South African cousins coming over especially for the wedding was wonderful. I surprised Naomi with a slideshow of pictures, including funny ones of her with friends. I also surprised her during her speech with a picture of her elderly pet shrimp, whom Naomi wished could be there. We had eight bridesmaids who wore dresses in different styles and shades. Naomi and I felt excited and nervous as we hadn’t seen or messaged each other for three days prior to the wedding. Seeing each other in our dresses for the first time was an emotional moment. To entertain our guests, we had an in-house DJ, garden games from Suffolk Events Hire, a props table, a balloon arch and a sweet cart. We both chose silver jewellery and heels. We’re planning to go to Rhodes, Greece, for our honeymoon. We have excursions booked, historic tours and romantic meals. REAL WEDDINGS 51
