Your East Anglian Wedding - October/November 2024 (Issue 69)

I made all of our centrepieces, which told the story of why our wedding date was so special to us. Fordham Abbey was recommended to us and we jumped at the opportunity to have our wedding there. We had a blessing in the Japanese Gardens, which was totally breathtaking, and by incorporating our bright and bold flowers, we got to add our own personal touch. Following this, we invited our friends and family to follow us into the walled garden, which is where the guests got to truly relax and enjoy themselves before the wedding breakfast in the barn. Following the wedding breakfast, we invited everyone to head down to the market square for music and a bar, equipped with a photo booth, horse trailer and glitter station. We got to take all of our guests on a journey with our wedding, with new parts of the venue being discovered throughout the day. Our wedding date was special to me as it’s the same wedding date as my mum and dad. Our wedding favours were made by my mother-in-law. She created mini bags full of sunflower seeds for our guests. For the children, I created a wedding booklet along with a Lego set. We also included some Japanese sweets to keep the Japan theme flowing after our beautiful wedding ceremony in the Japanese Gardens. The flowers made my day! Wild Clover Flower Company took my vision and brought the whole thing together. We had beautiful sunflowers along with bright blooms, which just added so much to the day. Our friend Hannah from Hannah’s Cake Box made our two-tiered wedding cake for us; it was lemon drizzle with a limoncello filling. We were told the cake was delicious, not that we got to try any on the wedding night as it went so fast! We had the amazing Pickled Ginger Catering deliver the best canapés and food throughout the day. 32
