Your East Anglian Wedding - August/September 2024 (Issue 68)

Instead of favours, we created a treasure hunt. Each table had a list of clues and there was a padlocked hamper that needed a code to open it. Everyone loved it and it was a real hit. JoJo-Lily Cakes By Design provided our double-height, two-tier cake. We decorated it with a pink silk ribbon that matched our colour scheme. We didn’t have a traditional table plan; instead, we had glasses of prosecco handed out to our guests with glass charms that said the guests’ table names on them. It was really different, but I loved it. Our wonderful florist, Kaye Souter Flowers, created the most beautiful centrepieces that tied in with our theme and incorporated the same orchids and roses that I had in my bouquet. The flowers were more than I ever could have imagined! I made a lot of the decorations myself. It was really important for me that the pink theme ran throughout the whole day, so I used a dusky pink silk ribbon across nearly all of the décor and stationery. It was really important that everything was on site because I didn’t want to go from one venue to another. I adored the ceremony barn at All Manor of Events with its twinkly fairylights and intimate feel and the reception barn being marquee-lined really hit the nail on the head. My favourite film is Father of the Bride, and I had always envisioned a marquee for my wedding reception. We went to an open day at All Manor of Events and we loved the atmosphere, the size and the staff! They were so incredible throughout the whole process. 42
