Your East Anglian Wedding - August/September 2024 (Issue 68)

“In the evening, we had a band called The Bears perform,” continues John. “Everyone loved these very talented guys! They learned our first dance song, Joyride by Roxette, and the atmosphere they created with their musical talent was outstanding! We wanted live music played consistently throughout the whole day and we achieved our goal! It’s not a wedding without some side-splitting snaps of your friends and family piling into a photo booth together wearing props, so we also hired a booth from the wonderful Strictly Photobooth.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “On the day, we felt excited, nervous and thrilled,” shares John. “We felt extremely satisfied with all that we had organised and achieved and so very much in love. There were plenty of hilarious moments, especially the speeches! All our guests loved the speeches! Our friends and family who attended our wedding have shared some very wholesome and treasured memories with us since. “We have to say the biggest thank you to the best people in our lives, our amazing, kind, generous and thoughtful parents,” explains the groom. “We couldn’t love you more if we tried! Our sincere gratitude, thanks and appreciation to Jeffrey, Georgina and Ann. Our bridesmaids and ushers were amazing and we have to thank them for their continuous support throughout our amazing day. Teamwork makes the dream work!” Chloe’s brother-in-law, Ben, was the couple’s toastmaster. “Ben had been a toastmaster before at Chloe’s sister’s wedding back in 2018,” recalls John. “The entertaining announcements and exploding of a gold glitter cannon were amazing! Alex Hurt wrote and read the most beautiful speech about us, how we met and our life together. My mother and Elaine Horne, a very talented lady and close family friend, wrote their own version of the famous The Owl and the Pussy-Cat by Edward Lear that was tweaked to us perfectly! Not to mention all the other perfect elements of our day, such as the time of year, the Christmas touches, the decorations, the fairylights and the spectacular table plan art.” HONEYMOON “For our honeymoon, we’re going to Bali for 10 days,” reveals John. “Chloe has been amazing at planning this. We are going to Ubud first, where we will be going on trips to see waterfalls, temples, an elephant sanctuary and Nusa Penida. To finish, we are going to the Gili Islands, where we’ll see turtles, have spa treatments and relax on the beach!” 37 REAL WEDDINGS
