Q&A Beauty Local experts offer advice on how to look your big-day best REST AND RELAXATION How can I ensure I’m relaxed in the run-up to my wedding day? It’s important to take time for yourself when you’re planning a wedding. It can be easy to spend all your time making other people happy, and it can lead to you feeling burned out before your big day. I have three things that I recommend to our guests who need some TLC before their wedding day: Planning self-care: Book yourself in for a series of rejuvenating facials to ensure your skin is glowing and get some much-needed time out. Our expert therapists will tailor a bespoke ESPA facial for you and can also recommend a skincare routine tailored to your individual needs. Additionally, if you have the time, I recommend indulging in a massage treatment to relax your body and mind. These therapeutic sessions can help you unwind and alleviate any pre-wedding stress. Confidence-boosting and anxiety reduction: Whether it’s addressing pre-wedding jitters, wedding speech anxiety, or any other concerns, hypnotherapy is a powerful tool to help you and your loved ones find your inner calm and self-assurance. We’re excited to announce our forthcoming partnership with an incredible hypnotherapist who can provide confidenceboosting and anxiety-reducing sessions. Mindfulness and relaxation programmes: There are lots of incredible mindfulness and relaxation apps to keep you grounded during the hectic wedding preparations. Some of my favourites can assist with sleep patterns, allowing you to feel more composed, centred, and in control. Embracing mindfulness will help you savour the beautiful moments leading up to your wedding day. By planning self-care, exploring hypnotherapy, and practicing mindfulness, you can pave the way for a relaxed, confident, and unforgettable wedding day experience. For your make-up to look absolutely flawless on your wedding day, you need to be well hydrated and have a good skincare routine. Even if you are prone to breakouts, redness, rosacea, or anything else, by investing in the proper care and treatments for your skin, you will have the best base to start your wedding make-up. I recommend visiting a dermatologist, beautician, or skincare counter to find out how you can optimise your skin’s appearance for your wedding day about eight to nine months before. If you aren’t sure who to go to, ask your make-up artist, as they will most likely have knowledge of how to best look after your skin or know a professional who does. It may be as simple as adding a serum to your skincare routine or just being more consistent. Putting the time and effort into this step will help ensure your wedding make-up is perfect. A classic bridal look includes simple but impactful make-up and hair. Lashes play a big role in taking your make-up to the next level. Natural but subtly fluffy lashes with a lovely rose or goldentoned shimmery eyelid, lined with a dark pencil, softly smudged throughout the lash line, is the ultimate classic yet modern look. When it comes to hair, I believe that the hairpiece you choose to decorate your hair with speaks volume. Put some lovely fresh flowers all around the crown to create a classic vintage style, or dot them over the plaited or twisted hair. Don’t forget to leave out a few strands of hair to frame your face with. Amineh Horrell-Palizdar www.beautybyamineh.com www.barbasboth.com 86
