The Woodyard includes a lovingly restored thatched sawmill, courtyard and west-facing terrace to enjoy the evening sun. The listed building is around 300-years-old; the walls supporting the thatched roof are a patchwork of traditional red brick and lime mortar and is in keeping with the other Georgian buildings within the park. For each element of the wedding day there’s a dedicated space. Ceremonies can take place either in the Mulberry Room (120 guests), Thatched Barn (120) or on the lake island (60) – where you may choose to arrive for your ceremony via the venue’s very own vintage rowboat! The venue has the capacity for a wedding breakfast of up to 120 guests and evening receptions of up to 160 across any of the following areas. The Thatched Barn, with its vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, Georgian brick walls and soft lighting, is the venue’s most romantic space. Later on, when the sun is setting, enjoy afterdinner drinks on the West Terrace and your first dance in the barn. Forming the southern wing of The Woodyard, and once home to the sawmill which now stands just outside, The Mulberry Room is a light and bright blank canvas for the wedding breakfast. Alternatively host your wedding ceremony in The Mulberry Room before retiring to the Thatched Barn for a candlelit supper.
