We booked a guitarist for the ceremony and drinks reception and he really held the fort before the service. I was 20 minutes late down the aisle as Drew hadn’t realised he was supposed to have a pre-wedding chat with the registrars. He was too busy socialising and they couldn’t find him! I got pretty creative with the table décor and spent months at car boot sales hunting out brass candlesticks. I also coloured some basic flower vases myself to fit in better with our jewel-tone colour scheme. We decorated the tables with brass candlesticks, dried flowers with pampas grass and table runners. Surprisingly we both felt completely calm on the day. I wasn’t nervous at all and it was so wonderful to just look into Drew’s eyes and know that he was there with me sharing the special experience.
