After chatting to Tony they met up and hit it off straight away. “Our first date was at The Six Bells pub in Felsham and we talked for so long we were the last ones in there,” she remembers. Jill was attracted to Tony’s zest for life, his manners and sense of humour while Tony fell for her smile and fun nature. Tony proposed on a romantic weekend away in Cambridge during a brief lifting of lockdown restrictions in December 2020. It was a complete surprise and Jill said ‘yes’ of course!
