Your East Anglian Wedding - February/March 2021 (Issue 47)

ELTON HALL, NR. PETERBOROUGH 01832 280 468 | www.eltonhall.com How’s this for a storybook setting? Elton Hall is a stunning castle- like venue, fit for any prince and princess. Arrive down the long, tree-lined drive and step back in time for a magical big day. The part-Gothic house has evolved over the centuries and now provides a wow-factor backdrop for magical weddings. You can tie the knot in the grand Victorian Billiard Room with its impressive lantern ceiling and celebrate afterwards with a wedding breakfast for up to 50 seated guests. Or, stroll through the gardens to the romantic Gothic Orangery for an intimate ceremony with 10 people inside and 35 outside on the terrace. The lawns and gardens provide an idyllic setting for drinks receptions and you can have a magnificent marquee reception in the parkland with 250 or more of your family and friends. We love... that as a family home, Elton Hall is very exclusive and only a handful of couples a year get married here on a ‘venue-only’ basis, so they can create their own unique wedding. HEACHAM MANOR HOTEL AND THE PAVILION AT HEACHAM MANOR 01485 536 030 | www.heacham-manor.co.uk This versatile venue offers the best of the old and the new. The interior of the Grade II listed Elizabethan manor house is charming and classically luxurious, typical of a period property. Now an English Country House Hotel it boasts a large bright conservatory with diamanté globe chandeliers, stunning views, bar and drawing room with open fireplaces, terrace overlooking the parkland and a cosy snug. Located close to the Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton on the North Norfolk coast, arrive down the winding driveway to catch your first glimpse of the historic manor, surrounded by manicured gardens, complete with picturesque duck pond. The purpose-built Pavilion is a brand new addition, providing a modern setting for weddings with a number of spacious function rooms, bar areas and a private enclosed garden. Light and airy with neutral décor and luxury furnishings, it overlooks the manor’s 18-hole golf course. The main suite benefits from five sets of French doors so you can enjoy the views and there’s an extensive patio with landscaped flower beds. You can marry and celebrate afterwards in the Pavilion’s Dove Suite with up to 150 loved ones or the Conservatory in the manor house, which can host up to 120 ceremony guests and 100 seated for the reception. For intimate wedding, the manor’s cosy Drawing Room is ideal. The hotel has 52 bedrooms, including a sumptuous suite in the manor house itself, and there are a further 32 bedrooms in the adjacent cottages, currently being refurbished, as well as seven brand new ones in The Pavilion, so there’s plenty of space for guests wanting to stay over. We love... the many period features in the grounds, including an ancient arbour wall and a historic Mulberry tree, which according to legend, was planted by Pocahontas during a visit to Heacham with her husband John Rolfe.
