Your East Anglian Wedding - June/July2020 (Issue 43)
‘I DO’ al fresco Celebrate your wedding in the great outdoors N ot even the Great British weather can dampen the love for outdoor weddings. In line with the enduring trend for more relaxed informal celebrations, demand is high for all things al fresco – outdoor ceremonies, marquees and tipis, garden games, barbecues, firepits, festoon lighting, bunting and more. A marquee is the ideal option for making the most of a glorious outdoor setting and Anglia Coastal Marquees has a whole selection to suit all kinds of weddings. Events and operations manager Chris Boardley shares his to-do list for making sure everything’s on track for the big day: ❤ Choosing a site isn’t just about the location, practical considerations have to be taken into account, such as accessibility for suppliers and guests, parking and how level the ground is. The type of surface is important too, as this can hit your budget if it’s not the standard grass field or lawn. ❤ Think about the logistics such as power supply for the caterers or band and toilet facilities. ❤ Check out the most picturesque view so the marquee layout can be designed around it. ❤ How many guests are you inviting, are more coming for the evening? You need to have a good idea of numbers in order to get the right amount of space. ❤ Consider having an additional marquee for the drinks reception, bearing in mind you’ll need somewhere for all your guests to congregate if it rains.
