Your East Anglian Wedding - April/May 2020 (Issue 42)

We wrote our own vows as we really wanted to express to our family, friends and to each other what the day and moment meant to us both in our own words. The Stables was exactly what Em and I wanted for our reception. There was even an old tractor inside above the front door with its headlights on, which we loved! Em and her bridesmen all wore three-piece navy suits. She had an ivory waistcoat to complement my dress and stood out from the others in rose gold shoes and no tie. Em’s bridesmaid, her best friend Keshia, wore the same style as the other girls but in blue. The owner of Tannington Hall collects and restores old tractors and farm machinery and he offered to have some out in the garden for our wedding day. We thought this was a wonderful idea as Em grew up on a farm and I was brought up in a rural area so we’re both country girls at heart and they made for some cool photos too! We knew travel would be involved in our wedding one way or another. We featured a map of the world on the invitations and had handwritten luggage labels as name cards at each place setting. We went for a rustic romantic theme with warm coloured fairylights draped from the ceiling, cream roses and gypsophila for the flowers and ivory cheesecloth lining the long timber tables.
