Dani and Sam’s wedding included a nod to their romantic engagement in the city of love Images courtesy of Fountain Photography Paris THERE ’ L L ALWAYS BE D ani and Sam met at a local pub in Ixworth, Suffolk, where Sam was the general manager and she was working part time while studying. “We immediately got along, joking and laughing the whole time; something that hasn’t changed throughout our relationship and now marriage!” says Dani. A shared love of travel and football helped seal the deal. “We have always loved exploring new cities and always try to go and watch a football game together while we’re away,” explains Dani. They spent the first few days exploring and watched a football match as usual; however, the city of love lived up to its name with a wonderfully romantic surprise. “Sam arranged a night at the Moulin Rouge; something I’d always wanted to do as I love live theatre, music and dance. He’d planned the most amazing VIP experience on the balcony with a delicious dinner and champagne. At the end of the meal the waiter bought over a box of macarons, petite four and a ring box! I was shocked, overwhelmed and felt like the luckiest girl in the world; a cliché I know, but true. Sam then got down on one knee and I of course said ‘yes’,” recalls Dani. The following morning, Sam organised a photographer to meet them at the Trocadero at sunrise for a romantic engagement shoot overlooking the Eiffel Tower – the perfect end to a fairytale proposal. They tied the knot at The Old Hall Ely on 28 th July, 2019, read on for Dani’s account of their big day... REAL WEDDINGS 35
