KEEP CALM & MARRY ON We’re just starting to plan our wedding for early November next year and are feeling a little overwhelmed. What are your top tips. Natalie says: If you’ve decided on a theme or just a colour, run with it. Don’t be afraid, this is your time to really create something beautiful and special for you as a couple. Work with your suppliers; they can really help bring your ideas to life. Autumn is an amazing time of year to marry, with all the warm colours starting to come through in nature you can really capture the full romance of the season.  Don’t be scared to ask questions either, no matter how big or small they may seem. Planning a wedding is very personal; the industry professionals that surround you during this time will only want the best for you and to create an enjoyable day for everyone involved. Also, on the big day, make sure you take some time out for just the two of you, even it it’s only 15 minutes, so you take it all in. Natalie Solanke | Wedding planner nataliesolankeweddings.co.uk SEASONAL STYLE I know the weather can be unpredictable in the autumn but I still want to look glamorous. What would you suggest that’s suitable for the time of year? Victoria says: It’s that awkward season when you might feel the need for a full winter coat first thing and a summer dress by late afternoon. Personally, I love a good sleeve on a wedding dress but for autumn you may need a more delicate fabric so that you don’t get too hot. Sassi Holford’s Vivian dress has a beautiful silk crepe bodice and soft tulle skirt with a stunning deep V neckline and keyhole back. With the sleekness of the bodice, almost what you might expect for a winter wedding, and the softness of the skirt, reminiscent of a summer bride, you have the perfect combination of the seasons. Also the simplicity of a dress like this is perfect for showing off a bolder, darker bouquet. When it comes to cover-ups to keep the chills at bay, it doesn’t have to mean shawls or cardigans anymore, although I do love a bridal cardi. Any ideas? Jo says: I love natural and simple styling and for me it’s all about the detail. Autumn is the perfect time of year to be inspired by what’s all around us, especially the wonderfully rich colour palettes wtih gold, burgundy and burnt orange tones which all look stunning for a seasonal tablescape. Bring the outside in and make use of what nature has to offer. Our countryside, forests and woodland areas are full of rich pickings – and all for free! Acorns sprayed gold look great scattered in among your floral arrangements. Fern works well too when it turns that gorgeous golden brown colour and adds extra interest and texture too. Candlelight always creates a sense of romance so go all out, if your venue allows. Brass candle holders, copper and metallic details reflect the light beautifully and log slices create a lovely natural rustic vibe for your table setting, especially on long trestle tables. Willow hoops decorated with fairylights and trailing ivy are always a winner for filling any blank empty spaces at your venue.
