Your East Anglian Wedding - Jun/Jul 2019 (Issue 37)
Based in rural Norfolk, Magical Events (magicaleventsltd.co.uk ) offers giant hat tipis and bell tents as well as furniture and lighting for wedding hire. Director Lisa Mazurek shares her top tips for hosting a magical event under canvas... ❤ Big botanical themes work really well in any tipi or marquee with lots of foliage and plenty of lights or candles to create a really cosy intimate vibe. We love our hanging lighting gantry as it makes for a stunning centrepiece. ❤ Top tip for coping with the great British weather is definitely to make sure you book a tipi or marquee with enough under-cover space to accommodate all your guests comfortably in the event of it raining. As the wedding gets nearer, if the forecast looks a bit on the chilly side, ask your supplier to bring in heaters or open fires as there’s nothing worse than your guests feeling cold. It’s so important to discuss a bad-weather plan to ensure it doesn’t stop you having the best day ever. ❤ Have a big basket of blankets available for guests to keep the chills at bay if they need to. Not only do they look cute all rolled up, they’ll be very welcome later in the evening especially if anyone’s forgotten their jacket. ❤ Bright hues look stunning for an outdoor set up so try and use as many in-season flowers as possible and build your colour scheme around them. ❤ We always say it but lights can make or break an outdoor wedding evening celebration, so the more festoons and fairylights the better to create a magical festival vibe. The bar is a major focal point, especially for the evening do and can come in all shapes and sizes to suit the style and theme of your day. Norfolk-based East Coast Bars offers a wide range of solutions, anything from a barrel of beer to stylish wedding bars or mobile drinks stations as well as staff, event management, glass hire, dry-hire bars and equipment. Owner Will Chandler advises: ❤ Be prepared for sunny weather as marquees can get really hot in the summer so a professional well-stocked bar with beer coolers and fridges is always the best way to keep all your drinks cool. ❤ Remember when doing you layout plan to allow plenty of space for the bar as there’s nothing worse than getting squashed trying to get to the drinks. ❤ Think outside the box to make the bar more personalised by including some of your favourite tipples or local specialities. ❤ Something a bit quirky can work well outside such as our horsebox bar. A great focal point, it always goes down well for the arrival drinks as well as throughout the day and into the evening. Visit eastcoastbars.co.uk to find out more.
