Your East Anglian Wedding - Jun/Jul 2019 (Issue 37)
18 M ake the most of fabulous seasonal flowers and let your floral fancies run wild, with bright pops of colour. Inspired by spring and the country grandeur of North Norfolk wedding venue Thurning Hall, local suppliers created a snapshot of the season using playful blooms, colours and details. Florist Sharon Pointon explains, “The oriental poppy is gorgeous at this time of year, so that was a great starting point. Then pink blossom was a must with peach avalanche roses, muscari, alliums, ranunculus and dainty fritillary.” The Norfolk bride provided the gorgeous Wild Orchid flowing blush gown which contrasted beautifully with the flowers. Made from 100 per cent silk with eyelash French-lace edging, the delicate bodice and soft flowing skirt created a romantic bridal look. Make-up artist Kirstie enhanced the magic, creating a timeless bridal glow for model Malisia. The standing, flat cube cake was a quirky play on the traditional. Featuring a circular aperture, representing a look towards the future, the raspberry and rose creation included raspberry preserve and tinted rosewater butercream, finished with beautiful blooms and fresh raspberries.
