After making celebration and wedding cakes for family and friends for nearly 20 years she’s now set up her own business offering original bespoke creations. Since launching The Holme Cake Company, Michelle has joined the Sugar Craft Guild and has been busy promoting her services at local wedding fairs. She says, “All my cakes are handmade, including the sugar flowers and decorations. Each one is original, created after consultations with my customers to discuss their ideas.” She also supplies cupcakes, popcakes and macarons to complement the wedding theme and is planning to run sugarcraft classes in the future. The enterprising duo have taken over the former Harvey’s Bridal Boutique in their home town of Ramsey in Cambridgeshire, following the retirement of previous owner Lesley Gibbs. Excited for the year ahead, the pair have been busy redecorating and as well as a fresh look, the boutique now has a new name, Harvey’s of Ramsey. “When we learned that Lesley was selling the business, it was a chance that was too good to turn down,” says Michelle. “She’d matched many brides to their dream dresses over the years, including me, and that's something Danielle and I both want to continue.” They offer a personally selected range of stunning wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses from leading labels. The company has rebranded as Mason’s Great Event Co to reflect the burgeoning business and its expansion into new and exciting areas.
