63 REGIONAL SHOOT Add a sassy splash of yellow and quirky touches to your big day Images courtesy of Bigphatphotos SUNNY SIDE UP S pring’s around the corner and summer’s not far off; let’s celebrate with a burst of hot yellow to shake off the winter blues. Local suppliers got together to do just that at the distinctive Voewood wedding venue on the North Norfolk coast; the ideal setting to create an alternative big-day look. “The idea was to create space within the styling for something original and different, including a wearable bouquet hoop, bright colour and a textured wedding cake complete with peephole,” explains organiser Emma Thorburn of Buns of Fun Bakery. 'The beauty team enhanced the sunny styled shoot with plaits and tumble-down hair, wow-factor sunset eyes and cabochon mustard nails. The hoop bouquet was studded with a selection of freeze-dried rose buds, succulents and live blooms with a matching buttonhole for the groom. Tables were trimmed with blue velvet, honeysuckle, mint, air plants, anthurium, apple twigs and candles and set with blue printed palm menus, authentic aged crockery mixed with glass and gin bottles. “The two-tier lemon meringue wedding cake referenced the eclectic vibe throughout Voewood’s Arts and Crafts style and the aperture in the cake was a nod to stone holes found on the nearby beaches,” adds Emma.
