Once upon a time Tie the knot in a storybook setting Glemham Hall, Little Glemham 07920 855 041 | glemhamhall.co.uk If you’re looking for grandeur and charm, Glemham Hall is hard to beat. Arrive down the long sweeping drive to catch your first glimpse of the impressive building. Dating back to 1560, it’s surrounded by 3,000 acres of glorious parkland. The beautiful interiors provide the perfect fit for a Cinderella-style wedding, complete with sweeping staircase for making your grand entrance into the Great Hall to exchange vows. Furnished with oak panels, wooden columns and original oil paintings, it oozes character and charm and can host up to 100 guests. For more intimate ceremonies, the pale blue wood-panelled Drawing Room has a log fire and provides a cosy space for your ‘I dos’. From May to September there’s also the option to marry in the Summerhouse. Nestled in a tranquil corner of the walled rose garden, surrounded by sweet-scented lavender it makes the perfect backdrop for an Alice in Wonderland theme. The spacious lawns are great for summer drinks receptions and a spot of croquet, glass of fizz in hand. Celebrate afterwards in the luxurious permanent marquee set in the gardens against the splendour of the hall. Furnished with ivory linings and glass chandeliers, there’s room for up 170 family and friends for formal dining. The dancefloor and canopy of fairylights help set the mood for the evening reception, and with its own bar you can party the night away in style with up to 200 loved ones. We love... the 200-year-old yew hedge tunnel. Festooned with fairylights, it’s a stunning walkway for making a wow-factor entrance to the reception. Seckford Hall, Woodbridge 01394 385 678 | seckford.co.uk Seckford Hall has all the characteristics for a storybook wedding – a Boston ivy-clad Tudor red-brick building, 34 acres of stunning grounds and mature woodland, sweeping lawns, a private lake, beautiful walled garden and more. There are a variety of spaces to suit a range of styles for weddings large or small, with a mix of traditional detailing and elegant modern features throughout. The Great Hall is the largest with room for up to 120 ceremony guests and 150 for the evening reception. Built of old Suffolk red brick and peg tiles in the style of a Tudor tithe barn, it’s full of atmosphere and opens out on to a patio with beautiful views of the lake and grounds. For larger gatherings, you can have a marquee in the walled garden as well. The Mulberry Suite in the mansion’s new east wing is ideal for intimate ceremonies while the Boardroom lends itself to cosy receptions for up to 14 close family and friends. Overlooking the gardens, there’s a terrace with private doors leading outside and access to a stylish new lounge area. We love... the on-site spa offering an array of beauty and relaxing treatments. pjaphotography.com FAIRYTALE VENUES 29
