Christina and Aaron met at a mutual friend’s fancy dress birthday party. “We were coincidentally wearing pretty much the same outfit!” Christina tells us. Aaron proposed in a hotel in Torquay on their anniversary. “The ring was perfect,” Christina says. “I felt excited to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.” Aaron adds, “I was so excited, I cried when she said ‘yes’!” SETTING THE SCENE Christina and Aaron wanted a May wedding at the rustic barn wedding venue Wonwood Barton. “We searched for the right venue for over a year,” the couple tells us. “We wanted a DIY wedding, with afternoon tea as our wedding breakfast and we wanted to supply our own alcohol because we don’t drink, along with a number of our guests, so we didn’t want to pay for a set drinks package that would go to waste. At Wonwood Barton, the team allowed us to do what we wanted for our special day.” The couple had access to the venue for three days. “It included accommodation so we could have our bridal party stay with us,” they tell us.
