area because our ceremony took place as dusk fell.” Arron adds, “We both felt, incredibly relaxed and happy all day. “I loved our evening ceremony and seeing our loved ones gathered together, everything went perfectly to plan. During the ceremony, a large owl flew directly over our heads and gave a loud screech as it went which was perfectly timed.” The couple chose an informal table arrangement with no set plan but they had a top table for themselves. “Our centrepieces were a mix of candles in glasses with antler carvings, faux moss and wildflowers picked from the gardens at Carwinion House that set our colour theme, all presented on linens in autumnal shades,” Nicole says. “Our favours were small hessian bags decorated with an axe charm and inside was a pack of wildflower seeds, a crystal and a heart printed with our newly married names and wedding date. We also had other fun Viking-themed pieces dotted around our marquee reception including solid wood, throne-like chairs placed at our top table.” LOOKING THE PART Nicole wore a white dress that she designed and was made by Helen at Buttons and Bows Dressmaking and Alterations. “It was designed to be simple but elegant,” she tells us. “For our evening ceremony, I accessorized it with Viking-style accessories.” Arron was dressed in full Viking attire, including armour, cape and furs and carrying a ceremonial axe. “Our beautiful bridesmaids wore matching dresses in autumnal shades with simple headdresses,” Nicole tells us. TIME TO CELEBRATE “We had axe throwing and archery, lawn games, flower-crown making and a children’s area to entertain our guests,” Nicole says. “The music played throughout the day was classical pop which sounded great! All of our guests got dressed up and into the spirit of things. The entertainment and catering suppliers were brilliant, and our photographer, Charlotte was amazing.” “We loved our tree swing.” - Nicole and Arron REAL WEDDINGS 27
