Vikki and Andy met at school where they were best friends. “We got back in contact 20 years later and never looked back,” Vikki tells us. Andy proposed on the 4th of July 2020, the day that the lockdown was lifted. “We were in our local pub with all of our friends gathered around us when he asked me to marry him,” Vikki tells us. “It was a great surprise!” SETTING THE SCENE The couple chose Holy Trinity Church in Exmouth for their ceremony. “It’s stunning and I always wanted a church wedding,” Vikki says. “The Imperial Hotel Exmouth was a great choice for our reception because we had family attending who don’t live in Devon so it provided ample guest accommodation.” Vikki and Andy chose a dusky pink theme to style their special day with some personalised touches. “We had cute bride and groom boxes containing our favours and a table plan and place and table names designed by the team at the hotel which looked just how we wanted them to,” Vikki says. “Our centrepieces contained sunflowers which were my nan’s favourite flower – she sadly passed away in 2021 so they represented her at our wedding. My sister made our wedding cake that tasted delicious.” 37 REAL WEDDINGS
