Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - November/December 2023 (Issue 46)

The reception was held at our neighbour’s farm located just two minutes up the road from the church. On the farm is a large events barn which was big enough to fit all of our guests. After our church service, and the confetti shot which we loved, we drove the tractor to a few different locations to have some photographs taken before heading to our reception. James said that a memorable moment for him was turning around to see me walk up the aisle. We both felt very happy and so lucky to have each other. I felt nervous on the morning of our wedding but this feeling quickly disappeared as soon as I stood next to James in the church. Because we are farmers, we had our Fendt 828 tractor as our wedding transport. I drove it from my home to the church with my mum sitting next to me which was one of my favourite parts of the day – everybody was waving and smiling at us! There was a large gathering of local people outside the pub waiting to see me as word spread that the bride was driving the tractor to the church! I’m originally from the village of Shaugh Prior, on the edge of Dartmoor so I wanted a traditional church service there. Shaugh Prior church is a large building with a nice feel to it. Our son, Harry was our ring bearer and he did an amazing job! 32
