Q&A Fashion Editor Claire Ridley speaks to bridal designer Sarah Treble about wedding dress trends for the new year Meet the expert: Sarah Treble is an Exeter-based bespoke bridal and evening wear designer with more than 20 years of experience in the wonderful world of weddings. She began designing and making couture wedding gowns and garments for private clients, moving from her London atelier to her Devon studio in 2009. Each piece is handmade using the highest quality fabrics and couture methods such as hand-embroidery and bespoke lace making. Sarah tells us: Trend-wise, I have plenty of bridal dress commissions for 2023 from two different ends of the design spectrum. One is the romantic look with full, layered skirts decorated with exquisite embellishments, plunging necklines and lace sleeves (these are extremely popular!) Then there’s the emergence of simple, clean silhouettes and trouser suits or jumpsuits. I’m also noticing an interest in prints, particularly floral, that look almost painterly like.
