Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - Page number 61 - July/August 2021 (Issue 32)

THE FLOWERS Wildflower Floristry is a local independent florist based in Plymouth, Devon. Owner Lucy Cooper tells us how she works hard to try and make the wedding designs as eco-friendly as possible. “This is by sourcing as many flowers as we can from our local Cornish flower grower keeping our floral mechanics as plastic-free and sustainable as possible.” She continues, “by sourcing our varieties in this way, we can keep our carbon emissions as low as possible and by using mainly seasonal flowers that are not forced to grow, we can keep energy levels down. Also, by using plastic-free and often reusable mechanics to make our arrangements, we can keep our wastage low too.” Lucy describes how wedding designs that have become a fast favourite in the past year are oasis-free hanging arrangements such as show-stopping garlands and hanging clouds which make truly spectacular décor and also wild and seasonal bridal bouquets. “It’s these designs that can suit so many different wedding themes, and each is personalised to the wedding date.” Find out more: 07523 880 568, www.wildflowerfloristryplymouth.co.uk www.facebook.com/wildflowerfloristryplymouth www.instagram.com/wildflowerfloristryplymouth Mixtons are a new beverage brand offering handmade, high-quality cocktails made from the finest, freshest ingredients with zero added preservatives or extras. As a result, Sharpham Cheese has just launched the ultimate cheese subscription club. Each sustainably packaged box brings a new discovery, as a curated selection of outstanding cheeses, crackers and condiments are delivered quarterly to the door for £30 (plus postage and packaging per box). The perfect wedding gift (or a token of love to yourself), the box is sure to impress anyone who loves good food. If you’re planning a micro wedding then why not send those who you can’t invite a box to enjoy on your special day? The team produces a range of cheeses using traditional methods from their Jersey cows along with neighbouring goats’ and sheep milk. Each box will feature three of Sharpham’s multi-award winning varieties handmade in the Dart Valley, a local guest cheese, Peter’s Yard sourdough crackers, a new Sharpham chutney and tasting notes. Greg Parsons, managing director of Sharpham Cheese tells us, “What could be better than finding a box of cheese waiting for you on the doorstep? Whether you taste the contents with friends or add it to your mid-week dinners, having a regular supply of artisan cheese at home is always a great idea.” Find out more: www.sharphamcheese.co.uk www.instagram.com/sharphamcheese ECO WEDDINGS 61
