 These wedding catering ideas and sweet treats will make your mouth water! ON THE MENU Sarah-Jane Payne is the master chef behind West Country Caterers, a leading Devon-based catering company providing home-cooked cuisine for all occasions. They recently won the Corporate Live Wire South West England Prestige Awards 2020/21. Sarah-Jane tells us, “At West Country Caterers, we’re aiming to help those who have decided to scale down their wedding from a larger affair, because of all the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, to a smaller one. We’ve devised a menu for smaller weddings with an emphasis on the plated dessert selection and we’re also seeing more requests for the popular luxury high tea as an option for an intimate dining experience.” The company offer two micro wedding menus for 15 guests. Menu 1 is priced at £50 per head and includes a selection of six canapés with tasty examples being tomato, mozzarella and basil skewers and crab tartlets. The wedding breakfast starters are caramelised onion tart with goats cheese or mackerel pâté served with rustic bread, and the choices for the main course include chicken breast stuffed with asparagus and spinach and ricotta cannelloni finished with a trio of desserts, coffee and mints. Menu 2 is priced at £60 per head and also includes a selection of six canapés with the dish of oriental chicken served with spicy pesto tartlets a must- try. Starters include the option of seared smoked salmon served with avocado salsa and the main course offers a juicy fillet steak or pan-fried sea bass. Sarah-Jane tells us, “One of my talented chefs has a sideline business creating stunning cupcake bouquets. Cakey Bakey Art was born from a love of cakes, florals and creativity. We make a large cupcake and using buttercream and our best piping skills, transform it into something beautiful. We also design couture and vintage cupcake arrangements with vanilla or chocolate flavours as standard. If requested, we can also make these in lemon and Matcha tea flavours, plus many more, and of course, the oh-so-popular red velvet cupcakes!
