A FAMILY Lydia and Sam’s barn wedding featured seasonal colours and decorative props Images courtesy of Katy Jones Photography Lydia and Sam Lamoon married at Humber Barn in Bishopsteignton, Devon on 19 th October 2019. S am claims that we first met when he and my cousin came to watch one of my gigs although I don’t remember that!” Lydia tells us. “Five years later, after receiving the news that I had been accepted on a teacher training course, he invited me for a drink. We became friends very quickly and spent lots of time together. I would purposely walk past the barber shop that he worked in, just to catch a glimpse! Sam eventually asked me on a date and the rest, as they say, is history!” The couple became engaged in Portugal. “I had no idea that he was going to propose,” says Lydia. “He told me that he was taking me away for my 25th birthday and booked us into the Picasso Suite in the boutique hotel Torel Avantgarde which was very special. He sent me for a massage while he arranged for champagne to be delivered to the room. We enjoyed the bubbles on the balcony and I realised then that he was going to propose because he looked like he was going to cry as he kept saying such lovely things to me. He then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It wasn’t until I rang my nan and grandad that I realised he had proposed on their wedding anniversary which I loved.” Here, Lydia tells us all about their autumn-themed day at Humber Barn in Devon. affair “ REAL WEDDINGS 39
