A close family friend of ours kindly made the cake which was designed especially for us. It featured five tiers decorated using the colours of the Big Five game animals as a nod to South Africa. Our bridesmaids wore dresses in a lilac and grey shade. They were given the colour and were able to select the style that they wanted to ensure they felt comfortable wearing them. Whilst all dresses were different, the matching colours pulled everything together. I teamed my dress with some strappy heels, crystal hairpins and pearl earrings. I (Joanna) wore a dress called Maisie , an ivory gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, criss-cross bodice and a ballgown-style skirt by w.too by Watters. It had tulle sleeves added and a pearl-encrusted belt – it looked stunning! Our guests loved the firepit outside where they could relax and enjoy their evening meal. We also arranged plenty of candles outside leading up to it and adored the canopy of fairylights that looks so romantic for our photographs. In the evening, we had a live band who were awesome! They played an amazing set which resulted in the dancefloor being full all night! 36
